As a regular contributor at Short Fiction Break, I publish a story with them every month. This is the one for January 2018 – a quick read about two people under pressure from more than just time.

Two Zeros

IFAQ – Infrequently Asked Question: Is the spelling zeros or zeroes?

I had to look this up. Apparently the spelling is zeroes when it’s a verb – we’re zeroing in on the target, she zeroes in on her victim. But because of words such as heroes – and potatoes – it definitely looks odd when we write the (correct) plural of a zero, which is zeros. No E.

Irrelevant Fact: The word Zero makes me think of Holes and also of the ghost dog in Nightmare Before Christmas.
