This week’s fifty-worder stories may have a slight circus theme. There’s a reason for that which you can guess if you’ve been following my Facebook page, namely that I saw The Greatest Showman this week  and really fell in love with the aesthetic. It reminded me of an old story I wrote about a (female) ringmaster and her circus  In Space. I may have to revive it. Meanwhile my eternal obsession with circuses is in full flow, and so you may see more showman-inspired items from me in the future.

Until then, I hope you like these. Let me know and as always please feel free to share your own fifty-word stories in the comments below.

The first one was for a reddit prompt of ‘Air’:

That’s it for this week, let me know what you think. Now to go and re-read either The Night Circus or perhaps, The Illustrated Man and many others of Ray Bradbury’s circus-themed dark fiction.  Or maybe I will just look to see when The Greatest Showman is out on DVD… More next week!

Did you see the movie? What did you think?
